Black Star Security LLC ("BSS," "we," "us") is a Montana limited liability company. This policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use blackstarsecurity.net, request a quote, or buy installation or monitoring services. We serve homes, businesses, and government facilities. This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us: name, email, phone, company or agency, premise address, and the details in a form, email, or quote request.

If you buy monitoring, we also collect what the service needs: panel or communicator information, call list, passwords or PINs, permit numbers, and alarm or system event data. Camera and app features, when selected, are provided through Alarm.com.

Information collected automatically: IP address, browser, device, pages visited, and time of access, from our host and form tools. We use a Google review widget. We do not sell your information.

2. How we use it

  • Respond to inquiries and prepare quotes
  • Install, service, and monitor systems you hire us for
  • Bill you and keep required records
  • Meet legal, permit, and contracting obligations
  • Protect the site, our customers, and our business

We do not send marketing email unless you ask for it.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only as needed:

  • Becklar, LLC — staffed central station. Alarm signals and call-list data go to Becklar so they can follow station procedures. For an alarm in progress, the 24-hour center is (877) 206-9141. Station calls may display (801) 781-6101.
  • Alarm.com — mobile app, user codes, alerts, and camera features when you select them.
  • Hosting, email, and form providers that run this website, under confidentiality terms.
  • Law enforcement, fire, or other agencies when a signal or the law requires it.
  • A buyer of the business, if we sell or reorganize, under the same limits.

Becklar may process alarm data at monitoring facilities in the United States and Canada, as stated in the Residential Monitoring Service Agreement.

4. Monitoring accounts

BSS bills the monitoring account. You are not billed by the station. Service starts only after the monitoring agreement is signed, a successful test signal is received, and any required alarm permit number is on file. Installation estimates do not include monitoring unless that agreement is signed.

5. How long we keep it

We keep quote and job records as long as needed for the work, warranty, tax, and contracting rules. Monitoring records are kept for the life of the account and a reasonable period after it ends.

6. Your choices

You may ask what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete information we are not required to keep. Montana law applies. If another state law gives you a right and it applies to you, we will honor it. Email [email protected] or call 406-640-3117.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. Cellular, internet, and power paths can fail. A signal that never reaches the station cannot be processed.
